I spent a year as a high school English teacher before I was disabled. My students achieved an 85% first-administration pass rate on the 2013 STAAR for reading and writing. I achieved a 720 verbal on my SAT in 1996. I possess an extensive background in business, psychology, and language arts. I wish to continue educating young people and preparing them to meet the challenges of high school and college.

Hobbies

I was the proverbial geek in high school and college, and many of my interests continue to this day. I'm a huge fan of literary science fiction; I regularly watch Star Trek, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Doctor Who with my family; and I often write critical analysis of television, film, literature, or social issues for recreation.
